Uniform

School Uniform

We have a dress code at Abbey Meadows which we encourage all children and staff to follow. The expectation for pupils is:

  • For girls: Grey school trousers, grey shorts or grey skirt
    • In summer: as above, or red and white school dress
  • For boys: Grey school trousers or grey shorts

For all:

  • Pale blue polo shirt
  • Red sweatshirt (up to and including Year 5)
  • Black sweatshirt (Year 6 only)
  • Black school shoes - not trainers

We ask that, for safety reasons, children do not wear jewellery other than one pair of plain ear studs.

Uniform Purchase

Whilst all of these items can be purchased locally we do offer a small range of t-shirts, sweatshirts, fleeces, hats and bookbags with the school logo. These can be purchased from the school office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during school hours.

You can also order online from Price & Buckland www.pbparentonline.co.uk/abbeymeadows.

PE Games and Swimming

To ensure children get the most from their PE lessons it is important that they are dressed appropriately. School PE Kit is as follows:

  • Winter: Tracksuit bottoms
  • Spring and Summer: as above, or black shorts
  • T-shirt
  • Trainers or pumps

For swimming, children will need a swimsuit. Hair will also need to be tied back.

You can purchase PE kit from the school office or from another supplier. Every child should have shorts, a t-shirt and a pair of plimsolls. It is useful to have a warm tracksuit and trainers as PE takes place throughout the year and we are outside as much as possible. PE kit should be kept in a bag which is clearly labelled with the child’s name.

We recommend that all school clothes, bags and footwear are clearly labelled to ensure children end the day with the same outfit they started with.

Hair should be tied back for PE and swimming lessons. All jewellery should be removed, including earrings.
